Marc is more than just a coach to me. He is a teacher. A mentor. A person to look up to. He always knows just how hard to push me; hard enough to make me stronger, but not so hard as to burn me out. He knows when I am tired and need a rest and when I can go again. Most importantly, he has taught me to have confidence in myself and how to love running, so much so that when I run, all that I feel is freedom. Thank you, Marc."
-Riley B. (12 years old), worked with Marc to successfully train for many races over the past two years.
Marc has been a terrific running coach for both me and my son, Noah. Noah started with Marc at 10 years old and really wanted to use running to improve his conditioning for soccer. Marc ran a terrific running club for kids and individualized his approach so that Noah could work on soccer conditioning while other kids prepared for cross country races."
I just finished my first half marathon at age 48 under Marc's guidance and strongly recommend him for adults interested in learning the "how-to's" of running. Marc has a wealth of knowledge about that he's thrilled to share about training, nutrition, injury prevention, race strategy, etc. I rarely go an entire week without emailing him a question about something that ultimately makes me a happier and more efficient runner."
Marc is a fantastic running coach and a great guy! He helped me with form, speed work and tempo runs. Using Marc’s plan, I was able to get a personal best time in the 2015 Chicago Marathon. I would recommend Marc for anyone who wants to improve their running fitness and race times!”
Marc was the glue in bringing together a group of runners in my neighborhood. He started a weekly running group of runners adults and children who would get together every Saturday morning rain, snow, or shine. Then, he would hold running clinics for my children and their friends every Sunday. He exudes so much passion for running that it rubs off on us. I've even used him as a personal coach for marathon training. He is full of wonderful advice about what shoes to buy, how to drink while you run, how to improve your form. Our community of runners will definitely miss Marc when he moves away. There's no one that seems likely to fill in his shoes!"
-Annie H., trying to qualify for Boston after running 9 marathons without ever using a pace watch!
I have seen Marc work in a variety of contexts—from envisioning, creating and leading schools, to coaching and supporting teachers, to building a following of devoted runners—and in every instance I have known Marc as exceptional in his vision, execution, and commitment to both the cause and the people involved.
He has developed a set of powerful practices and tools for staying organized, focused, and productive in one’s personal and professional life, and is skilled at sharing those practices with others. Thanks to Marc, I have grown both personally and professionally on a number of fronts. He help me clarify and improve my fundamental orientation to managing the overwhelming flow of work that confronts us all on a daily basis. In addition, he helped me go from someone constantly struggling to “stay in shape” to a runner who has completed 5 half marathons with increasingly fast times. I cannot say enough about Marc as a leader a coach, and a friend."
