Today we'd like to introduce you to Tabatha Daigle, owner of Salon T. Daigle in Milford!
Hi Tabatha! We’d love to hear how you started your business and how you got to where you are today.
As a child, I spent hours doing anyone and everyone's hair and makeup. Luckily for my clients though, I’ve come a long way since cutting my barbies' hair crooked!
While in modeling school when I was 14, I not only felt inspired by the runway itself, but also by the talent behind the scenes. It was then that I knew that the beauty industry was my calling. On my first day of cosmetology school in 2002, I started dreaming of Salon T Daigle Inc. I never imagined ending up anywhere else. I wanted to brand my talent and create an environment that would inspire my stylists and clients to be the best version of themselves. My first job as a stylist was at a small salon where I was fortunate enough to work with highly seasoned professionals. When I wasn’t busy, I would observe their every move, including the art of good conversation. These were the days before Instagram and Facebook, where stylists had to attend many classes to keep up with their skills and couldn’t just click on an app to get some new tips.
When my now husband and I had built our home and were expecting our first baby girl, I decided to get my feet wet and become my own boss. I rented a chair in a salon for a few years, which was the perfect step for my career. I learned more about the business side of the industry and was able to grow my business organically. While pregnant with my second daughter, I opened a small salon and my business took off! It quickly became obvious that I needed a bigger space and an actual staff. After giving birth to my third daughter, I decided to open Salon T Daigle Inc. My husband spent hours transforming my new space into everything I ever wanted, and I moved into my new salon in October 2015. Step by step, and as if the universe had planned it all along, each member of my staff, who each brought totally different things to the table, came together and turned into a dream team. Finally in 2016, I gave birth to my fourth child, a baby boy. My business had grown as quickly as my family! I started out with just a dream, and once I finally accomplished it, I realized that dreams don’t ever really end, they just expand. I now have four little ones to inspire to have big dreams!
Along this journey, I have learned so much about myself thanks to some good and bad experiences, mentors, friends and family, and I am truly grateful for each one of them. I also discovered a love for teaching fitness classes at two local studios, Live Love Barre and Core Fitness. These two studios are where my mornings start, taking care of my mind and body, and where the amazing tribes of women there balance me.
What sets you apart from others?
Salon T Daigle Inc. sets itself apart by not only continuously creating beautiful healthy skin and hair but by having a team of individuals that motivate and inspire each other and our clients everyday .
What do you like most about having a business in our community?
I credit my community for supporting local small businesses. I learn so much from talking to other business owners such as Grey Almeida, the creative mind behind The W Shops, who always has new questions and ideas for me.
